Thinkbroadband are reporting that McDonald’s will offer free wi-fi to customers.
We understand this service, provided by the cloud, will replace the BT Openzone access points currently available in McDonalds. The announcement comes days after news that BT is working with peer-to-peer wireless community FON to offer customers access to 190,000 hotspots worldwide. We are watching developments in the public Wifi arena with interest, and are working with our colleagues at BT to ensure our own customers can take advantage of developments as soon as possible.
McDonald’s has announced it will be offering free wireless Internet access posing questions as to whether the general high street price of Wi-Fi access is going to drop.
