It’s that time of the day again. Your guest editor for the day is me, Chris. As a lot of you may know I work in the comms team and can be seen frequenting the forums on a regular basis.
In no particular order, well ok, the order they were sent to me
CSC
1. Provisioning Updates 25% – Customers calling for udpates on their migrations, some accounts appear to have the wrong status and therefore the activation from BT is not being picked up correctly.
2. New Faults 25%: – Different types of faults, no particular patterns.
3. Sales 15%: – A number of customers have been requesting information on our packages and signing up over the phone.
4. Router Config 15%: – Mainly new customers wanting setup help, the new confirmation page after the signup process completes should help this.
5. Email: – 15% Some customers are still seeing delayed emails, you can see the latest service status on this here:-

Comms
Today in Comms it’s been business as usual stuff, talking to customers in the forums, Service Status updates, keeping the CSC team up to date and such like.
You can now hear Bob’s dulcet tones on the Service Status line if that’s your sort of thing, and we’ve improved the internal process to ensure that this is kept as up-to-date as possible in future following feedback on the Community Site forums.
We also had our monthly rally, where we talk about the last month’s performance, and where our focus will be for the next month.
Development
Today we have an update from developer Rick Walker on his work on the Member Centre.
Recently we have conducted usability tests on the Member Centre section of the portal to see how the tools are utilised. After analysis it seems that the usability of the current features and tools could be improved. As such our design / usability guys got round the table and came up with some really cool prototypes in an effort to simplify the interface while keeping all the remaining features intact.
Not only is this my 1st proper project at PlusNet (being a relative PlusNet newbie of 2 months), but what a project it is too! I get to implement a really cool new user interface (UI) and I also get to develop some pretty nice tools and new features to make customers’ lives easier. Expect all the old favourites, some cool new ‘toys’ and more in the near future, all implemented using our development Framework for increased page performance.

Networks
Hi I’m Jason and I’m the new Information Security Manager here at PlusNet. Firstly I would like to say what a great bunch of people work here at PlusNet. Kind, friendly and dedicated to the customer experience.
Well today has been very interesting as we have had a follow up visit from the BT information security auditors. This auditing helps us to maintain a secure environment and is important in keeping us focused on security standards. A lot of hard work is going into security of our systems and its part of my role to keep the momentum going.
Web Team
Cameron was in at 6am to put live an improvement to the confirmation page that new customers see after joining. The page now has more information than it previously did (usernames, server settings etc) and useful links that can be printed out for future reference
Marketing

I feel that this is a useful form of communication to us customers - please keep it up.
