New Service Status Tool

March 6th, 2007 at 14:16 by cblack

After supporting signup and getting handover sorted, I am now looking into a new service status tool. This is being being worked on by Anoop and I will be helping him finish it and integrate it into our visps. It does look nice and gives more flexibility in showing information about service affecting issues that we are having and resolving. You can view a prototype for the portal view here.

For Metronetters…

March 3rd, 2007 at 10:49 by admin

The project you’ve all been waiting for…! Metronet Billing (including Direct Debit functionality!)

>From an internal update :

“Just a quick update on the progress of this project.
Started Beta testing on Fri 23rd Feb and so far it’s going very well indeed.
We’re now at 87% Beta testing complete, so should be 100% and bug free by the time we’re ready to roll to Gamma last thing on Wednesday 7th.
We then have a week to hammer it on Gamma, with a scheduled roll to live on the 14th.”

Good news, and providing a smooth roll to our Gamma platform and no further interruptions - it looks like we’re on course for a 14th March rollout!

‘Community’ Site : We need your help!

March 2nd, 2007 at 18:30 by admin

Community Site? Discuss (dot) Plus (dot) net? What do you think?

We’ve just started the development phase for our new ‘community’ site - and we want your help!

1) Prototyped Design
Over the last few days our designers have worked on a number of designs and seem to have settled on the following. We think it looks quite good - but what do you think?

2) The Name
What shall we call it? We have varying opinions as to what we think the site should be called, so we would like your help in coming to a final decision. Afterall, it is your site!

I’ve setup a Zoomerang survey to collate opinions and we’ll announce the winning name early next week as the site enters the build phase. Help us out here : http://www.plus.net/go.html/community_site_vote

We hope to roll the website to beta in early April and will be looking for volunteers to help us try it out. More information on that soon!

All of these point directly to the Customer Support Stats on the Portal…! How easy is that to remember, eh? ;-)

Customer Open Day : 30th March 2007

March 1st, 2007 at 18:54 by admin

As mentioned in our “Plans for 2007″, and further reinforcing our transparent approach to communicating with our customers, we are arranging a Customer Open Day for Friday March 30th, 2007. This will give customers the chance to have a look at what we do, talk to us about our roadmap and take part in Q&A sessions with senior representatives from all areas of the Business.

If you wish to attend, and can definitely do so, then we invite you to apply for a space at our Open Day via :

http://www.plus.net/go.html/open_day

The process also gives you the chance to provide us with feedback as to what you might be interesting in seeing or doing at our open day. If you like flashy lights, let us know. If you want to give Vision a try, tell us. If you want to discuss the future of the product set at great lengths with our Product Team - we want to hear.

Due to space limitations, numbers for the day will be restricted to 25 and we’ll be selecting successful attendees at random if more people than this apply. Customers of any PlusNet vISP can apply. If a large number of customers apply, we will consider running another similar day later on this year.

Lunch will be provided and limited parking is available on site.

I look forward to (hopefully) putting some faces to familiar usernames :-)

Start of Month Update

Priority Problems on the Portal

This successfully rolled out a week ago, and since then, we have (at the time of writing) published 20 problems to the portal. We hope customers are finding this insight in to the internal workings of PlusNet useful!

Current Developments

As a team, we are currently working on many various projects. Personally, I am involved in the following projects:

Rate My Ticket

We are currently in the process of developing a change to the ticketing system. This will involve removing the current 5-star rating system and replacing it with the standard Smilie Face system used on the Support Pages.

Community Site

We are now working on developing the community site, which we hope to have ready for a Public Beta test in early April. We are also working on a new prototype for the site, which we hope to be able to share soon. Those attending the Open Day may get an early peak at the site…

Cam and Tam are working on other projects as well, but I shall leave it up to them to post about them.
